Questions.
Is this allowed on servers?
Bauloo Styles only changes what you see. It does not give you any advantage and sends nothing to the Minecraft server you play on. Check a server's rules if you are unsure about texture changes.
What does auto update do?
It is built into the mod. When you start the game, it checks if there is a newer Bauloo Styles. If so, it downloads it in the background. Minecraft keeps its mods locked while it runs, so the new version takes over on your next start. You can switch it off in Extras.
Why does a jar scanner warn about Bauloo Styles?
Scanners read the code and look for patterns. They don't run it, so they can't see what the code actually does. These are the parts they flag:
Session token. The Feedback button asks Mojang to confirm your account, the same way joining a server does, so nobody can post fake reviews with your name. Your login only goes to Mojang. The mod never saves it and never sends it anywhere else.
Internet. All styles live in the Styles cloud instead of inside the jar. That keeps the mod small, new styles show up without an update, and a pack only downloads when you use it. The mod also checks for updates and shows the tornado in tab.
Windows access. Only for the Spotify card, to read the song title from the Spotify window.
"Runs an exe". Only in the auto updater version. Windows locks mod files while Minecraft runs, so after you close the game the updater starts Java once to swap in the new version. The download without the auto updater leaves this out completely.
"Possibly obfuscated". Inside every Fabric mod, Minecraft's own classes have names like class_1234. Bauloo Styles itself isn't obfuscated.

What does Bauloo Styles send over the internet?
Nothing goes to the Minecraft server you play on. The mod only talks to GitHub, where the styles and updates live, and to bauloo's own small server, which runs on Cloudflare.
Styles and updates. The style list, the packs you apply and new versions are downloaded from GitHub. GitHub sees your IP address, as with any download.
Player count. Every 10 minutes the mod sends a random ID for your PC (hashed) and your Minecraft name. That is how the "players online" number works. Only bauloo can see the names of who played recently.
Tab icon. When you join a server, and then every 4 minutes, the mod sends your Minecraft UUID, so other Bauloo Styles players see the tornado next to your name. While you hold the tab key, it asks which of the listed players use the mod. Turn off "Show me in tab" in Extras and your UUID is removed.
Reviews. Only when you press Feedback in the Styles menu: the mod confirms your Minecraft account with Mojang, the same way joining a server does, so your login never leaves your PC. Your review is stored with your Minecraft name, UUID, the hashed PC ID and a salted hash of your IP, so everyone can review only once. Minecraft heads on this site load from mc-heads.net.
Public presets. Only when you share a preset: its name, your Minecraft name and the hashed PC ID.
bauloo's server stores no passwords, no chat and no IP addresses. Cloudflare runs it and sees your IP, as any website host does.
Does it work on Lunar or Badlion?
No. Those clients do not load Fabric mods. Use the Modrinth App, Prism, the Bauloo Launcher or the normal launcher with Fabric.
Can other players see my cosmetics?
Not yet. Cosmetics are on your screen only.
Can I share or change Bauloo Styles?
Share the link baulooprac.xyz, not the file. Bauloo Styles is free to download and play with, but all rights are reserved.
Without written permission from bauloo you may not re-upload the mod anywhere else (other websites, Modrinth, CurseForge, Discord servers, file hosts), change, rename or rebrand it, publish a changed version, or take its code, menu design, textures, sounds or capes for your own projects. Copies found elsewhere get taken down.
Styles that come from texture packs belong to the people who made those packs. The full license is the LICENSE.txt inside the mod.
